What a season we've had! Mother nature certainly blessed us this winter in Summit County, Colorado. With the record breaking numbers of snowfall, some mountains are staying open for longer than usual. Unfortunately, certain resorts will still be winding down their seasons quite soon, so be sure to make the most of the last few days and end of season events at your favorite local mountains!
Keystone ~ April 7th
Keystone Resort’s closing day is quickly approaching, bringing the mountain’s annual Slush Cup event along with it! Sunday, April 7th will be the last day of the 2018/19 winter season at Keystone, and people of all ages will be there to soak up some sunshine, hit the slopes, and put their pond-skimming skills in action. Registration for the pond skim will be 8 to 10 am and the event will begin at noon. Participants can also show off their creativity in the costume contest. If pond-skimming isn’t your thing, feel free to come by anyway to watch and cheer on the participants! Copper Mountain ~ April 21st
Copper Mountain will be the next to close its slopes. Copper's last day of the season will be Sunday, April 21st and their closing weekend will be jam-packed with multiple awesome events that you definitely won't want to miss! Copper will be holding its 8th annual Red Bull SlopeSoakers pond skim on Saturday April 20th, featuring floating rails and live music. On Sunday the 21st, you can ski for a good cause at the Retro Shred-a-Thon to raise money for injured mountain sports athletes. Retro-gear is strongly encouraged. Since this also happens to be Easter Day, Copper will be holding "The World's Largest Easter Egg Hunt" for kids of all ages. Enjoy an excellent Easter breakfast followed by a hunt for 65,000 eggs. Breckenridge ~ May 27th
Breckenridge is taking full advantage of the extra snowfall this year, and you can bet we're excited about it! There has not been an official report on which peaks will be staying open, but the fact that any of them will be open for a month longer than usual is good enough for us! Closing weekend events will likely be announced as the date gets closer, so stay tuned.
Arapahoe Basin ~ TBD
As usual, A-Basin will be outlasting 'em all. Their closing date is estimated for sometime in June, but until then be sure to enjoy the many springtime events the mountain offers. The Shakin' at the Basin Spring Concert Series will be jammin' every weekend beginning April 27th, and the 18th Annual Festival of the Brewpubs will be May 26th!
